From 16 to 22 of March, The 11th International K. Davidov Cello Competition is taking place in Kuldiga where 47 new cello talents from more than 10 different countries are participating.

 

DETAILED SCHEDULE OF THE COMPETITION.

The competition gathers young cello talents from all over the world, as well as give listeners the opportunity to enjoy a varied program of cello music in concerts and competition rounds. The competition is organized by Kuldiga District Municipality, E. Vigners Kuldiga Music School and Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. The jury of the 11th International K. Davidova Cello Competition is formed by an international team of 5 members, and the jury is led by Kristīne Blaumane, principal cellist in London Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the most outstanding Latvian cellists.

The Final concert of the Competition will take place in  Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, and will be performed by Chamber orchestra "Sinfonietta Rīga", conductor Normunds Šnē, and Competition laureates.
