SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Alma Anete Miķelsone started learning cello at the age of 5 in Emīls Dārziņš Music School in Riga with teacher Dace Pūce and pianist Ilze Dzērve. She graduated in 2020 and started studies in Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Music academy with professor Diana Ozoliņa.
She is a laureate of a number of international and national competitions such as "Riga Blackheads Brotherhood Chamber Music Competition", “Tales of Inese Galante International Competition", "International Baltic Young Musicians Competition" in solo and chamber music, has participated in various masterclasses with professors like Reinhard Latzko, Troel Svane, Marta Sudraba, Miklos Perenyi and orchestras like Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Baltic Sea Phiharmonic, Davinspiro Camerata, Heidelberger Kantaten orchestra.
In 2022 she went on a ERASMUS+ program in Germany, Mannheim to study with professor Francis Gouton and in 2023 she finished her Bachelor’s degree. Currently she continues her Master studies there and actively performs concerts both as a solo artist and as a chamber and orchestra musician in Latvia and abroad.
