SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Alise began learning the violin at the age of five as her first instrument. However, when she entered the 1st grade at Jugla Music School, she chose the cello because it felt closest to her heart. After just a few months, she participated in her first competitions and won high prizes:
1st place in the Latvian State Competition for cello, Group 1 (27.02.2023), performing the folk song "Skaisti dziedi lakstīgala."
2nd place in the Young Musicians' Competition "Stīgo, radi Bolderājā" (19.05.2023), performing "Oranžie ziedi" by A. Tumševica.
3rd place at the XV International Young Chamber Music Festival-Competition (31.05.2024), performing "Je pense a toi" (for Clare).
2nd place in the "Talents for Latvia" competition (01.06.2024), performing A. Vivaldi's "Concerto in C minor."
Alise’s repertoire includes works such as Ē. Ēšenvals' "Lullaby," L. Beethoven's "Contradance," B. Gravionas' "Lullaby," G. Golterman’s "Trois Romances sans paroles," A. Nolck’s "Marionetten-Walzer," and others.
In 2024, Alise entered the 3rd grade of Emīls Dārziņš Music School to seriously pursue cello study under the guidance of her teacher Ieva Upatniece.
