Patroness of the Competition -
ELEONORA TESTEĻECA

The artistic director, the head of the jury from year 2000 till 2018, and the Patroness of the Contest is a well-known cellist and teacher, professor of Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music Eleonora Testeleca. In 1966 she graduated from Leningrad Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory where she studied with prof. Mstyslav Rostropovich. Then she became a winner of the III P.Tchaikovsky International Contest. She has performed in many countries and together with outstanding conductors - L.Vigners, G.Rozdestvensky, K.Kondrashin, A. Jansons, M.Jansons, etc. Besides her teaching work E.Testeleca has participated in different significant projects and public activities.
